Tre Hawkins Benched: How Will the Giants’ Defense Shape Up Without Him?

The New York Giants were aware of the gamble they were taking when they chose to start the season with two rookie cornerbacks. However, it appears that they have decided that having two rookies in this role is too much of a risk. As a result, Tre Hawkins, who was a sixth-round draft pick, is the one who will no longer be part of the starting lineup.

Previously, Hawkins had been playing as an outside cornerback alongside another rookie, Deonte Banks, who was the team’s first-round pick. In response to this change, veteran Adoree’ Jackson will now be shifting to the slot cornerback position when the Giants use their nickel package, which is a formation commonly employed to defend against passing plays.
